# Signals

> External intelligence monitoring for regulatory, competitive, and market signals.

## Overview

Signals continuously monitors external sources for intelligence relevant to your business — regulatory changes, competitive moves, scientific publications, funding announcements, and market trends.

## Layout

| Panel      | Description                                                |

## Signal Categories

| Category        | What It Tracks                                                |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Competitive** | Competitor product launches, partnerships, pricing changes    |
| **Regulatory**  | FDA guidance, CMS updates, state regulations                  |
| **Scientific**  | Published research, clinical trials, conference presentations |
| **Funding**     | Venture funding, grants, M\&A activity                        |
| **Technology**  | New platforms, assay methodologies, automation                |
| **Payer**       | Reimbursement changes, coverage decisions, CPT updates        |
| **Sentiment**   | Market sentiment analysis across all categories               |

## Signal Cards

Each signal card shows:

| Element              | Description                                      |

| **Category badge**   | Color-coded category                             |
| **Subcategory**      | More specific classification                     |
| **Source**           | Where the intelligence came from                 |
| **Date**             | When it was detected                             |
| **Title**            | Headline                                         |
| **Summary**          | Brief description                                |
| **AI Insight**       | AI-generated analysis of the impact              |
| **Impact breakdown** | Market, Technology, and Regulatory impact scores |
| **Impact level**     | CRITICAL (≥8), STRATEGIC (≥5), or MARKET PULSE   |

## Engaging with Signals

Click **Engage Brain** on any signal to open a Brain conversation with the signal's context pre-loaded. The Brain can then:

* Analyze the impact on your business
* Compare against your current strategy
* Identify required actions
* Connect to relevant vault documents

## Syncing

* **Manual sync** — Click **Sync Now** to trigger a fresh signal scan
* **Auto-sync** — Signals sync periodically in the background
* **Stop sync** — Cancel an active sync operation

## Configuration

Click **Configure** to customize what Signals monitors:

| Field           | Description                           |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------- |
| **Competitors** | Company names to track (one per line) |
| **Technology**  | Technologies to monitor               |
| **Regulatory**  | Regulatory topics of interest         |
| **Market**      | Market segments to watch              |

## Sentiment View

Select the **Sentiment** category for an aggregate view:

* Overall sentiment score
* Positive/neutral/negative ratios
* Pie chart visualization
* Strategic conclusion
* Trending keywords
